Marathon Training: Update on the Update

Well I finally went to the doctor because my heel/foot pain became almost unbearable.  You have no idea the nightmare it was for me to go – I absolutely hate looking at feet and there were posters of foot fungus and various foot problems everywhere I looked.  It was completely disgusting.

The doctor put me in a giant boot, I have to take a ton of Ibuprofen, ice it, etc.  For 4 weeks I can’t do ANYTHING which means I can’t do anything I signed up for this spring (races, bike rides, cycling to work – NOTHING).  After 4 weeks I go back for a reevaluation to see if I have to wear the boot longer, move on to a different splint or have an injection in my heel (no, that last one isn’t an option I am willing to do).  It is really disappointing, but there’s nothing I can do about it – I have to take care of it now so I can get back to doing the things I love….  :/  Guess I’ll be watching a LOT of Netflix.

  1. Sorry to hear about your set back. Yeah, it’s gotta be taken care of, but the good thing is, the roads will be out there waiting for your return. Keep a chin up. Hope it all turns out okay in 4 weeks.

    • hahaha! I tried knitting when I was younger and could only knit a straight line – so scarves for everyone! LOL! Maybe I should get back into scrapbooking – I haven’t touched any of that stuff in years since I have been blogging!! thanks so much for the well wishes!! 🙂

  2. Such a bummer 😩 So sorry! I wish you a quick recovery. Yes, you have to take care of it now. You have to be patient. When I had 3 stress fractures on my right foot about 10 years ago. I felt great with the boot on so I walked all day at the San Diego zoo. 🙄 Well, the fracture got worse and I had to wear the boot every minute for 6 weeks instead of 4 weeks. Take care so it doesn’t linger. ❤
