The Color Run is advertised as the happiest 5k on the planet – but this morning it seemed like it was also the coldest. It was a chilly 35 degrees when we arrived to sign in. There was hardly ANYONE there, which really surprised me because when I did the Color Run in Hershey earlier this year it was so packed they had to have 2 dates. As the time went on though, more people came, but it still wasn’t near the amount of people as the prior run.
We got our packets, put our crisp new white t-shirts on, and got in line. We were pretty close to the front so we were one of the 1st waves to go.
The cold air was really bothering my lungs until I got warmed up. I was using the interval timer app I have on my iPhone to keep my minute run/ minute walk pace – I LOVE that app – it beeps or vibrates when it’s time to switch and you can set it for whatever time lengths you want – it is really helpful for me so I don’t just run like crazy until I have an asthma attack. 🙂 I was especially glad I had it because I hadn’t run all summer, but the Color Run is more for fun than it is an all out race.
The color stations were amazing, the route was awesome, and the volunteers were great! We definitely got splashed with more color than the last color run I did.
BUBBLE STATION!! 🙂
As we were running we saw people who went through the blue color run who were completely covered head to toe with blue. When we got to the blue color station we saw why – some of the volunteers had shovels – like giant snow shovels and were just DUMPING the color on the runners – it was awesome!! As I ran through I was smiling and got it all on my teeth and gums – yuck.

I look like Braveheart – LOL!!!
The final station was silver glitter – AWESOME!
At the end, there is an after party where they throw MORE packets of color and at certain times the crowd throws it up into the air – here is where you really get covered!! They also have different colors than the ones in the race – like purple – my fav! 🙂
We brought towels to sit on for the car ride home – believe me that stuff gets EVERYWHERE!! It comes right out of your clothes though as soon as you wash them – I was kind of bummed because I wanted the color to stay on my shirt – no such luck! Oh, and don’t be surprised if you blow your nose and it is blue for a little bit – LOL! 🙂
That looks like so much fun. It looked like a beautiful day, hope it got warmer!

Colder runs are always harder to start, but once I get going the temps turn out to be nice. Awesome job!
