When I saw the event on facebook for the first annual Merry Little Bike Ride – I knew I HAD to go. The free slow ride was organized by Lititz Bikeworks and the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department – they just asked that if you rode, you donated a gift to a child in need. A good cause where I can ride my bike and string lights all over it?!? DONE!

SPLAT – almost…
I enjoy cycling to work when the weather is nice. I do everything I can to make myself visible to drivers and follow the rules of the road, but there are some people that just plain don’t pay attention…
30 DAYS OF BIKING 2017
30 days of biking starts TOMORROW!! Since I am not supposed to be cycling right now due to my heel/foot injury a few family and friends have volunteered to take some days for me. I will be doing the bicycle exercise and also posting once of my favorite cycling videos everyday over on my facebook and twitter pages so feel free to check them out! Hopefully my doctor says I can get back to cycling at my follow up appointment next friday so JoJo and I can check out some cool bike trails!
Bike Commuting – What’s In My Bag?
Have you ever wanted to try to bike commute to work, but didn’t know what to bring with you? Here’s a list of everything I bring with me when I ride my bike to work! ( I did forget to mention my wallet- LOL!) Give it a try sometime!
Bike MS: NYC
On Oct 23, 2016 I had the privilege of riding in the Bike MS: NYC which was a 30 mile route around Manhattan. NYC is another area I haven’t been to in YEARS and I was disappointed I didn’t get to do as much sight seeing as I wanted, but that just means another trip back – preferably when it’s a bit warmer!
Harpers Ferry – DC Episode 11
I forgot to post this! OOPS!!
My final day in DC! Kevin drove down the night before and I asked him to bring his bike so we could cycle around DC before he took me home. After going out to eat at Panera (by the way, the staff at the Panera near the Rosslyn Metro station were so friendly!) we grabbed our bikes, hopped on the Mt Vernon Trail and cycled to DC. I showed Kevin all the sights I saw a few days before since he hadn’t been to DC in a while – we really lucked out because there happened to be some sort of walk going on and a TON of streets were closed so we didn’t have to worry about cars at all. Then we got on the Rock Creek Park Trail and headed up to the zoo. The trail was lovely although it was very crowded along most of it – it was a Saturday after all.

Bikepacking Trip – Day 2
If you missed day 1 of my trip – start HERE! 🙂
I woke up in Leesburg, VA, packed up my panniers, and headed out to the front desk to wait for the shuttle to take me back to the Ferry. The 3 guys who were cycling the whole trail were on my shuttle again and we wished each other well as we got off the ferry and started the final portion of the trip to DC. They told me they would be taking their lunch break at Great Falls if I wanted to join them.
